Getting a Visa for Guinea-Bissau in Ziguinchor, Casamance

getting a visa for Guinea Bissau in Casamance, Senegal

Getting your visa for Bissau in Ziguinchor just may be the most pain-free interaction you will ever have with bureaucracy in West Africa. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes. What’s more, the friendly consular officer will even fill out the paperwork for you.

The embassy is located in the center of town, on an unpaved side street a few blocks from two of the city’s biggest avenues:

Arriving at the embassy, take a left after walking through the gate. The office you need is on the left hand side of the terrace. It’s a small, air-conditioned closet with a nice man sitting inside.

The visa costs are as follows:

20,000 CFA : 1 month, single entry visa
30,000 CFA : 3 months, multiple entry

As usual, you will need to have two passport photos. All you need in addition to the photos is your passport.

The whole process takes about 5 minutes. You do not need to drop off your passport and pick it up the next day. The consular officer does everything right in front of you while you sit in the A/C. Not a bad deal and probably the most pleasant experience you will have getting a visa in West Africa.

One important note: The embassy is open for visa processing from 8:30 – 14:00, Monday through Friday.

Hello, I went there today (July 28, 2017) and it was exactly the same process and price.
The guy was really friendly and I spoke to him in Portuguese. I gave him a passport copy, he filled the paperwork and put the sticker on my passport. The price was exactly the same too. I got a one month one for 20K. I was out of there in 5 minutes, although, I could have used another 15 minutes to enjoy the aircon.

Just got my visa there today, April 12th 2022. It was very smooth. The only thing is that the prices went up a bit and you don’t need a photo, just your passport.
    25,000cfa for 30 days and 2 entrees.

Got my visa in Ziguinchor on Oct 4, 2022.
I was able to get it around 3.30 pm. Before you come, call M. Mamady Diallo, General Consul at 775316228.
One thing has changed: the prices went up. It was 25k for a one month visa with 2 entries.
